Welcome to my History Capstone Project! I focused on the history of Holocaust Education in Germany since the end of World War II to better understand how post-genocide nations educate their students about their complicated pasts. This project will survey the existing scholarship on Holocaust education in an attempt to paint a detailed picture of the educational landscape, past and present. Using this base of knowledge, I will then analyze how Holocaust education has changed in Germany through interviews with three Germans who attended school in different decades and regions. These conversations help to uncover how the changes in German education have reflected a broader focus on accountability and a reaction to the resurgence of European antisemitism. To view my project hit the “Posts” button in the top right corner.
