So… a new school year has just begun.

Here’s a chance for everyone to chime in (Comments) of what you read and saw during the summer that are Sci-Fan related: books, graphic novels, scifi and fantasy flicks, tv shows, etc.
I’ll start off by saying that the INCEPTION outing early in the summer was FANTASTIC. We had 15 people at the IMAX theater and even though we met up an HOUR before the show time, on opening day, we weren’t the first 100 or 200 or 300 viewers on line. It was a bit insane.
I re-read American Gods by Neil Gaiman: as it is our club’s assigned Summer Read, and can’t wait to discuss the book soon with everyone.
I also got to read Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, the third and final book of the Hunger Games trilogy. I know that many have read it as well. So, comment away!
Another book that I thoroughly enjoyed was The Ring of Solomon by Jonathan Stroud — a new Bartimaeus novel that is set in the time of, who else, King Solomon of the biblical fame. Bartimaeus is every bit as cunning, boastful, witty, and surprisingly with quite a bit of sympathy, as in the previous three books featuring him and his exploits. This one is definitely more focused on HIM rather than the human magicians. It is slated to be published in November.
My husband and I also finally finished watching the 4th and final season of Heroes, the tv series. It was not bad… but the first season remains the best written and most enjoyable. Zachary Quinto is such a fine actor!
