We have begun a collaboration between our high school photography class and Sonoma Academy’s photo class. Students exchanged digital portraits of each other and each student included a short paragraph about themselves. Prior to reading their paragraphs, our students viewed their photos and wrote a paragraph guessing the identity of each person in the photos. Our final step in this project will be to digitally alter the portraits….

- Hey oh! my name is Clare. I am a Junior at Sonoma Academy. I have lots of friends. I live in the Napa Valley, I’ve lived her for 11 years. I moved here from Houston, Texas when I was five. Some times I sit at home by myself, sometimes I don’t. My best friend Dylan is in a dance crew, I’m his one and only groupie. You may have heard of them. I play lacrosse and run cross country and I used to play volleyball as the libero. I’m looking at colleges in NYC, maybes we can meet sometime. - I’m known as Chris. I think Coke is better than Pepsi, but I love Dr. Pepper cuz its the best soda ever. Video games are cool and I play tennis when I’m not being a total gamer. Homework is a pain, who doesn’t think that? I am not the most popular guy in the school. With friends I believe in quality vs. quantity. I somehow always seem to associate myself with the most weird people in the school. I have three kitties: one super cute, one super normal, and one super stupid in every way who also has some sort of foot fetish… I don’t know… he’s crazy like that. I’m also a middle child. I am a senior and am loving this year so far. I have better friends than ever and our class as a whole gets a long really well. - My name is Gisella and I attend Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa, but I live in Napa. I am very shy due to the fact that I am an only child. I have one pet dog and her name is Uva, which in Spanish means “grape” we named her Uva because both my parents work in the wine industry. I love to run and I participate in Track in field, I run the 4 by 1, 2 by 4, 100m and 200m dash. I love Chinese food and ice cream. Favorite season is the summer because I love the heat and the sun. - My name is Robert. I’m going to be truthful with you. I’m not going to say that I was born three hundred years ago and was raised in the Sahara Desert by Jawas (even though it’s true). I’m 15 years old and live in Windsor CA. I have lived in the same house for 13 years. Before I came to Sonoma Academy, I was at the same school for 9 years. I have two dogs, an outside dog and an inside dog. I love exotic and nice cars. My dad and I have a friend that is a race car driver and we get to go down to the track a lot and watch. I would say walk around backwards sometimes, so you might be able to feel the loose dirt with your toes and realise direction is definable only by a head and its thoughts. Quantum Physics man, it’s a trip. Little electrons popping up everywhere then disappearing like some sort of idea. And who said things were going to make sense? Put my face up somewhere nice please, that way I can see across the country with telescope glasses and look around at all the shadow faced people, going about their shadow face days, and talking with their shadow faced friends. - Hello my name is Carsen and I attend Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa, California. I enjoy playing sports. The ones I currently am playing are basketball and lacrosse. I also really enjoy dancing and watching movies with my friends. I have a younger sister named Kamryn and I have 2 cats and 2 dogs.
