    Terrestrial Globe, sketch #2.
    Research Questions:

    1. What group of people (i.e. class, profession, etc.) used this?

    2. In what way was it utilized?

    3. How did this globe differ from similar ones of the time?

    4. Was this a revolutionary concept? If not, what was it based off of? If so, What triggered the need for a globe?

  2. Finn Jubak says:

Good questions Jilly. I think the main question that this globe
raises is what does it say about what these people knew about the shape of the world at this time? You definitely knew about this question of the roundness and you hint at it in #4, but just to say it outright: Clearly they knew it was round. Since when did they know it was?

How correct is the globe’ geography? What would be the significance of this?

Where is it from, when was it made? Why is that important?

  3. Walt says:

    This is a terrible drawing.
