1. What are the brass colored parts on the lock made of and how does this affect the structure and/or design of the lock?
2. Where exactly does the key go into the lock?
3. Was it a prison lock, or a lock to protect goods?
4. What did the people of the time period value enough to protect with the lock and why?
I like this sketch a lot–it contains a lot of description, although I think you could have included more clear ones that really show it–maybe a view from the side. I enjoy your questions, especially question #4, but I think you have to include more maybe about its origins: “Who made it?” or “How many were made?” or “Where was it made?” are a few examples. Also maybe try to investigate the inner structure a bit more; perhaps you could ask what actually happens when one turns the knobs on the inside of the lock? But overall, good questions, and good sketch.
