{"id":132,"date":"2009-09-14T11:45:53","date_gmt":"2009-09-14T15:45:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.dalton.org\/mslibrary\/?p=132"},"modified":"2009-09-14T14:41:58","modified_gmt":"2009-09-14T18:41:58","slug":"welcome-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.dalton.org\/mslibrary\/2009\/09\/14\/welcome-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome Back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back and welcome to the 4th graders who started their life at Big Dalton today!<\/p>\n<p>We have a lot of exciting things going on at Dalton in the 2009-2010 school year.<\/p>\n<p>All of the middle school students will have a chance to work with Mr. David Macaulay, children&#8217;s book creator and Dalton&#8217;s Orginal Mind scholar this year, on many areas of their studies: from cities to medieval history, and hopefully everyone will put his\/her marks on paper in this <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.dalton.org\/sketchbooks\/\">Year of the Sketch Book.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For 5th graders and houses, it is exciting that Katherine Paterson, author of famous children&#8217;s books such as <em>The Great Gilly Hopkins, Lyddie, <\/em>and <em>Bridge to Terabithia<\/em> will be coming to Dalton in late October when we host a world-wide WebCast for Miss Paterson.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the works are bringing back Middle School Book Fair in the spring and Library Literary Labs for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.\u00a0 Stay tuned for information<\/p>\n<p>And of course, the exciting and fun <strong>&#8220;Do You Know Books!&#8221; <\/strong>game show will be held for 4th and 5th graders again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back and welcome to the 4th graders who started their life at Big Dalton today!
