Porch Lies – Tales of Slicksters, Tricksters, and Other Wily Characters by Patricia C. McKissack.
It has been fascinating to compare the different collections of stories we have read and see what common themes are threaded throughout. Characters are faced with challenges and often look to an element of the supernatural to overcome them. The stories are an interesting reflection of different ways people have tried to cope with difficult times throughout history.
