Second Graders are learning the intricate details of how the library is organized, including the distinction between fiction and non-fiction and the use of call numbers. These lessons help solidify everything they learned in younger grades about the layout of the library and make them even more independent browsers.
In honor of Women’s History Month, 2nd Grade Houses read books about admirable women from the past and present including the very inspirational story of Gertrude Ederle.
This month we applaud the talent of several ladies and gentlemen who earned the prestigious Caldecott Award and Newbery Award for their work in children’s literature.
