Abastract Mood Rendering

DUE: Week of May 26th

SAMPLE ASSIGNMENTS 

On the LEFT half of a piece of printer paper (8.5″ x 11″,) create an abstract/mood piece that captures the themes, atmosphere, and anything significant from the novel you are reading for this month.

Restrictions: Only use Colors, Basic Shapes, and Lines.  Please do NOT render actual objects or characters on this piece.

On the RIGHT side of the paper you will present the following:

1. Title and Author

2. An Artist’s Statement explaining your choices of colors, layout, and shapes.  This statement should be no shorter than one full paragraph (120 words) and can be more than one paragraph.  Don’t write more than 250 words.  You want the words to fit on the half page next to the artwork.

3. Your name/signature
