Adam quickly ran through the sands of hel, looking back at Maddy. She was the cause of all of this, and she would pay.
“Wait a minute,” said Maddy. “If we leave Hel, what will happen to Surt?” the Aesir and the Vanir discussed among them selves for a minute. Bragdi said “All of us.” He gestured towards everybody but Maddy, and Ethel. “Will hold off Surt as long as we can, but the only thing that will really stop Surt is the order of Asgard,” “What?” said Maddy. “Just get across the rainbow bridge with all eight of you, and get to Asgard.” Bragdi shouted. “How do I summon Asgard,” she said, But the rest of her words were drowned out as Surt crashed through the barrier holding him hostage. Maddy and Ethel ran.
When they reached the horse’s eye, they both climbed out. A strange man was sitting there, all dressed in rags, and wearing a smile on his face. “I knew you would come,” he said. However, there is no time to lose, your brother, Mogni is awaiting execution at worlds end.” “How do I know I can trust you?” Maddy replied. “You don’t, but what do you have to lose?” Maddy thought about this for a moment. “All right, but how do I get there?” she asked. “You have demon blood in you,” he replied. Maddy concentrated with all her might on the form of a raven, her favorite bird. Suddenly she burst wings, and headed to worlds end.
Adam sat concentrating in his room, he had sneaked in while she was gone, the first thing he had done was get himself some new clothes, and he hurriedly changed into fresh ones. He then opened the good book, and was frustrated to find that he didn’t have a key. ‘That won’t stop me’ he thought, and traced a mark that he had seen Maddy use on locks. the result was the same, the lock opened with a slight “click”. He then heard his mother open the door, she opened his door, and then.
When Maddy arrived at worlds end, she found the streets deserted. Could this be a trap? But then something caught her eye, a huge cathedral was packed with people, and Maddy still in her ravin’s guise saw a sign next to the cathedral that said ‘Public cleansing today at 3:30′ Maddy changed back to her human form, stealing some clothes from the nearest house. She darted to a back door, and saw an executioner holding the good book in his hands, he started chanting. “I name you Mogni, child of Thor, Child of Jarnexa, child of wrath, But the next canticle was drained out by Maddy. With the head of a rhino, she had butted the executioner and grabbed her brothers hand, and ran.
“Well that worked,” said Mogni. They had been captured and thrown in a dungeon to awat execution the next day. “I have a plan,” said Maddy. Two hours later when an order apprentice came in to give the prisoners food he found only two empty suits of clothes. An executioner also noted that two small birds had flown out of the city, even though that type was made extinct 35 years ago.
His mother walked into the room. “No!” Adam yelled. Almost without consciousness he formed a shape with his fingers, it was Haggal the destroyer. His mother fell to the floor with a crumble. Suddenly Adam felt like he was being coated with hot fire, then the fire condensed to his forehead. He the fell to the floor with a tumble
After Maddy and Mogni landed, Maddy told him the what was happening and such. Mogni, Maddy found out was very secretive about how he was born, however, he did tell her how he was captured: I was hiding all my life. I had to seeing how the order was ever-vigilant, but one day I snuck out. I thought I was good at hiding, but I guess the order knew where I was, because the brought me there, and you know the rest. “Yes yes, a very nice story,” the prophet said, he then vanished leaving only a piece of paper behind that said ‘Another rune of the new script can be found at home.’
When Adam woke up, he felt different, changed. He went to a stream outside his house, cupped his hands, and splashed water on his face. When Adam placed his hands on his face, in an attempt to wipe off the water, he felt something on his forehead. Adam rushed inside and looked in his mirror, on his forehead was the third rune of the new script Kala: wrath, confusion, sorrow. Suddenly, the front door opened.
When they got to Malbry, they found everybody attending a funeral for Nat Parson, the deceased reverend of the church. She saw Adam walking outside. “Look,” she whispered to Mogni, “He has a rune on his forehead.” They followed him into the house, and they walked in.
Adam suddenly cast the rune naudr but Maddy and that boy who looked like her twin cast Yr at each other, which cause a sheild to envelop them. Naudr bounced off and shot back towards Adam, who found himself locked with chains. Adam yelled “You can’t trap me with my own rune’s!” He cast Ur at the chains and the broke off, unfortunately. he then saw two Naudr’s hit him full in the face. He drifted quickly into unconsciousness
“I’ll take him with us,” said Maddy, changing Adam, still asleep into an acorn. When Maddy and Mogni walked outside, they found that the prophet was sitting there. “Where can I find the next rune of the new script” “The prophet smiled and said “In little bear wood.” She and Mogni ‘who had no idea where they were going’ set off for the wood. Once they reached there they heard a loud bang, rushing up ahead they saw five people dueling each other with runes. Suddenly they all fell silent, one of the members was looking through Bjarkan; right at the place where Maddy and Mogni were hiding.
“Come out, we know you’re there,” said one of the members. “Shall we get them?” Maddy whispered to Mogni. Mogni nodded, they jumped out, both casting Isa, at the members, unfortunately they were quick to respond… 30 minutes later, they were all panting, Adam having been restored to his original shape. “Okay, why were we fighting, seeing how we’re pretty much out of glam.” Maddy explained everything that had happened to her, and soon enough, they were walking back to the horse’s eye. When they had Ethel, they were still one rune short. Suddenly the prophet appeared “Grab him,” a clan member by the name of Volstagg shouted they got him, forced him to show them his left arm. On it was the last rune of the new script.
