On… my.. this has been quite a lapse on my part — we had this Lab almost 3 weeks ago…
Ben, Deven, Kheyana, Mack, Arman, Zach LL
We now have a Speech Orb — in its purple blinking glory…. (now someone killed it… deflated)
Ben read the Last Apprentice Series and is going to read the 4th next.
Deven showed us on Amazon a whole list of sequels coming out in 2008: Inheritance (3), Septimus Heap (4: Queste); Ranger’s Apprentice (4), Percy Jackson (4), Five Ancestors (5), Children of the Lamp (4), Artemis Fowl (6), Sisters Grimm (6), The Last Appretice (4).
Arman reread His Dark Materials again.
Zach read MAUS I. About Jewish family in WWII and some of them survived but most of them don’t. It’s graphic novel: the Jewish people are represented as Mice, the Nazis are Cats, and the Polish people are Pigs. (Zach couldn’t figure out why…) He highly recommends it but should get both Maus I and II.
Kheyana read The Folk Keeper and liked it, “It’s actually pretty good!” Even though she didn’t find it interesting at the beginning — but it got really good. Adventurous and with mysteries but all fitting together at the end.
(Program Interruption: Arman found out that you can’t erase someone’s hair.)
Deven was confused by His Dark Materials but no longer! Deven thinks there should not be a sequel to Howl’s Moving Castle! (but the book is really good)
Mack read Travel Team by Lupika — and he didn’t like sports stories but thought this book is neat because it was just about winning or proving themselves but poignant and it dealt with issues outside of the world of sports. Also by the same author, Miracle on 49th Street: the theme is how people can learn to accept each other by understanding each other more….
