This is a captivating story about the growth of a young adult. Majorie Morningstar is struggling to balance a filled social life with a professional career. With many twists and turns this book remains interesting throughout its course. I highly recommend reading it.

the sisterhood of the traveling pants are great books. number one is good and really gets you wanting to a- read the next one b- introduces you to the characters PERFECTLY. the second is slightly more inapropriet and not a good a the first but WORTH READING! ok so i did read it 8 times in a week. the third is a great story about bridget. I loved all of them.
there is a movie of the first one and it’s a great movie. it’s is not a good movie of the book because there are characters missing, details that really changed the story were diffferent.

This book is absolutely amazing! It is so intense and I was really able to relate to all of the characters in this book. It’s about a group of ballerinas (but its not all tutu and twirly) that each have their own story and perpective. They’re competing for 16 spaces in a certain prestigous ballet academy. Not all of them can make it. There are other issues along the way such as pressure, eating disorders, and social lives. But wait…theres more! This book is written in poems. Not all rhyming or anything, just poetic and in the shape of a poem. Which also means the book is shorter than it looks. If you’ve ever been in a normal situation, this is the book for you. Read it-I promise you’ll like it.

Written by Ayn Rand, it’s more or less based upon the idea that by holding steadfast to the ideals one holds dear and not being influenced by mob mentality or the selfless humanitarianism stamped into the general public, you prove yourself to be above the conventional standards. This thought comes out through the story of an Architect whom struggles against the public to stay true to himself.
P.s. the movie is terrible, c grade. Badly made, unstructured, and overdramatized, but its fun to watch with a crowd of skeptic, glass-half-empty type of people.

As this title might suggest, this book has a strange premise. Putting aside the initial shock of the baseline, Neil Gaiman is an amazing author. If you like realistic fantasy or even just flowery but powerful language this will be an instant favorite!!

After seeing the movie (also recommended), I’ve been reading Robert Penn Warren’s All the King’s Men. It’s a story about a Louisiana politician loosely modeled after Huey Long who rises from a lowly background to be elected Governor of his state.
It’s well-written, although somewhat wordy, and is one of the great political novels of the last Century. Read it!

So I found out last night that the Otori Trilogy is now a quartet! The 4th and final book has just come out. I’ve ordered it for the MS Library and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. From the reviews, I can tell that this one has a powerful ending — which is what book three (Brilliance of the Moon) lacks. I hope those who have read the trilogy will enjoy this volume as well.
