Inspired by imagery from Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

“The Eye of the Enemy is moving…He is here.” – Legolas
“Its Black Gates are guarded, by more than just orcs. There is evil there, that does not sleep, and the Great Eye is ever watchful.” – Boromir
“You know of what I speak, Gandalf. A Great Eye, lidless, wreathed in flame.” – Saruman

So. I just listened to Citytalkers by Mur Lafferty, read by Deborah Green, on Escapepod. It was last year’s Christmas story there and I thought some of you might enjoy it, too. I wonder if you were to personify New York City, how would you describe it.

It’s rated PG: Contains moderate violence and stronger weather.

Here’s the story: directly linked from www.escapepod.org, a fabulous sci-fi podcast site by Steve Eley.
