Strobist: How to Improve Your Cheapo Webcam’s Picture Quality

This is an excellent guide to using you web cam. It is also a great example of how a visually rich document can tackle an often tedious task is an engaging and efficient manner.

Strobist is a great blog that uses all sorts of internet tools to teach people how to use off camera lighting. In 2006 it ran a summer-long course through a series of assignments open to anyone. Participants shared their photos using flickr, and the site highlight the most successful “student” work.
