I love this book because it is interesting and little bit scary. I also found a lot of passages that were really interesting. Abbie’s family lives in a lighthouse. Her mom is sick and Abbie has three sisters and one brother. Her dad asked her to take care of the lighthouse and keep the lights burning when he was going to town to get food, oil and medicine. My favorite character is Abbie because she is an interesting girl. She is really brave and good at doing her job. I thought it was cool that her dad could sail a boat in the rain and fog. This is a true story and it is hard to believe because the ocean was so powerful, the waves were so large and the wind was blowing so hard, but Abbie was able to do her job.

This book is about a girl named Abbie. She lives on an island in a lighthouse. Her dad goes to town to get oil, food and medicine for her sick mother. While he is gone a big storm comes and Abbie has to keep the lights burning because her father is not yet home. Abbie is a responsible and caring girl. I think this book is a little scary because in one part a storm hits their house. My favorite part is the end because… I recommend this book for people who like scary things and adventures.

I like this book because it is non-fiction. It is about a girl named Abbie. Her family lives in a lighthouse. Her father goes to town in the Puffin, his boat, and a big storm comes. While he is away… You’ll find out! I liked Abbie because she is brave. I liked when she keeps the lights burning when her dad is away.
