I like the whole entire book and I wish that it just kept going. I wanted to learn more about Clara. It is a true story. This story is about a girl who wants to read, but her dad would not let her. My favorite character is Clara because she is creative and likes to learn. I recommend this book because you learn about a true story.

I recommend this book, too, because I liked that Clara went to a wagon that had a lot of books. The librarian was my favorite character because she helped Clara pick a perfect book to read. I agree that you should read this book because I learned that you should follow your dreams and you shouldn’t give up what you want to do.

I would want to give this book three smileys instead of two. I liked that the dad finally let Clara take a book from Miss Mary. My favorite is Clara, too, because is she very nice and adventurous. I also like her because she takes care of her family. She also likes to read, like I do. I thought it was kind of funny because her dad at first thought the bookwagon was a wagon for dead people.
You might also like The Long Way to a New Land, because they are about children who like to read and learn. They both take place a long time ago.
