It is an interesting book because it is realistic fiction. I did not know that back then people were so poor. The book taught me that people did not have a lot of food so people had to go to a new land and they had to have enough money to go on a boat. They had to know where a good land was. It was probably so hard to know where to go because there was no Internet. They could not look at where there could be a good place to go that was somewhere around them.

Natalie, Grade 1 - H21, The Dalton School (New York, NY, USA) (10:27:55) :

I liked this book because it was realistic fiction which I like. It teaches me about the past. There are other books in the series, which I’ve seen in the library and want to check them out. They look good, too. Did you read Clara and the Bookwagon, too? It’s realistic fiction also.
