An Interview with Craig Bolotin

11 03 2009

I decided to interview Craig Bolotin because he is a nice and very funny person. I also interviewed him because I do not know a lot about him. He works in the New Lab at Dalton. The New Lab is a group of people that help students with their technological problems. They also teach us about the new technologies that we have not learned yet. Craig has helped me a lot of times and almost never gives up. Once he worked on a computer for around a month! His office is at the end of the hall on the ninth floor in Big Dalton. If you want to learn more about Craig, read this interview.

What is your name?

Craig Bolotin.

How did you get introduce to computers?

I was pulled out of class in second grade to work on the school’s only computer. That was the beginning. Then starting in middle school, I started programing and playing games.

Why did you chose to work with computers?

I’ve always been the one to fix things in an office and I’ve always taken things apart at home. I’ve always been able to work with things and technologies and figure them out. I never chose to work with computers. I have had several different jobs that I have taken. Because I like to do fun things.

If you could have any other job, what would it be?

I would make toys or work on a farm or both.

What are your favorite and least favorite aspect of the job?

The best aspect of the job is being with the students and the worst aspect is being away from home.

Tell me about your family and what you do in your free time.

I spend all of my free time with my family. My wife Lea and Maxwell who is seven and Casey who is four. We do a lot of things and spent a lot time together. We play with legos a lot and we build a lot of things out of random things in the house.

How did you get a job at Dalton?

I was just running my own business and someone alerted me about a New York Times job ad. I was offered a job. I wasn’t planning on taking it but my boss convinced me otherwise.
