Panels & Page Templates
How do I select a page template?
- Under the Libraries tab, choose a page template that best suits the type of action or conversation in your scene
- Drag the page template onto your blank page
How do I change the shape or position of a panel?
- To select a panel, click inside of it
- Adjust the shape of the panel by clicking and dragging the green squares
- Adjust the position of the panel by clicking and dragging it to another location
- Rotate the panel with the pink arrows
How do I lock a panel to my page?
- To select a panel, click inside of it
- On the right of the program, click the Details tab
- Check the Lock box

How do I add images to my Comic Life page?
- Drag your images onto the desktop
- Your picture will expand to fill the shape of the panel as best as it can
How do I select an image within a panel?
- Double click on the image
- Be careful not to select the panel and the image together! You know when you can adjust the image independently of the panel when the panel border turns orange.
How do I remove an image from a panel?
- Double click on the image to select it (panel border will turn orange)
- Press the Delete key
How do I move an image around a panel or into another panel?
- Double click on the image to select it (panel border will turn orange)
- Click and drag the image into another position or into another panel
- TIP: To move the image in small increments, use your arrow keys
How do I add multiple images to one panel?
- Drag the second image onto the page but do not place it into a panel
- Once the image is on the page you may drag it into a panel with another image, but you must hold down the Apple key when dropping in the second image.
How do I change the size of an image?
- Double click on the image (panel border will turn orange)
- Click and drag on one of the green squares to change the image size (enlarge the image past the panel border to crop the image)
- When you are finished, press Return or click elsewhere on the page
How do I rotate an image?
- Double click on the image (panel border will turn orange)
- Use the pink arrows to rotate the image clockwise or counter clockwise
- When you are finished, press Return or click elsewhere on the page
How do I flip an image?
- Double click on the image (panel border will turn orange)
- On the right of the program, click the Details tab
- Check off the Horizontal or Vertical box to flip your image
- Return or click elsewhere on the page
How do I copy an image?
- Drag in the same image from your desktop, OR
- Double click on the image (panel border will turn orange)
- From the Edit menu, select Copy
- Then, from the Edit menu, select Paste. The duplicate image will appear onto of the original image.
- Drag the duplicate image to another panel
How do I lock an image to a panel?
- Double click on the image (panel border will turn orange)
- One the right of the program, click the Details tab
- Lock box

How do I add a caption to a panel?
- Click and drag the caption shape to your panel
- Adjust the shape of the caption box
- Double click to insert text your caption
- If necessary, readjust the shape of the caption box
How do I add a speech/thought balloon?
- Drag each speech balloon to the correct panel
- Drag the blue dot to adjust the position of the tail
- To move the entire balloon, drag the green handle
- Double click inside of the balloon to enter text
- If necessary, readjust the shape of the balloon to display all of the text
How do add a balloon to an existing balloon?
- Drag a second balloon near the first one
- Position the second balloon in the correct place (you can even merge the second balloon into the first balloon)
- Double click inside of the balloon to enter text
How do I format the text?
- Select the caption box or speech balloon
- On the right of the program, select the Details tab
- At the bottom, click on Choose and select a different font and size
- Click on the Font color swatch to select a different color for the text
- You may have to adjust the caption box or balloon to see the newly formatted text
