As some of you know, I have a blog, educating alice. Blogs, as Betsy explained to you when she visited us last month, are web logs — the two words became mushed together and, voila — now they are called blogs! And guess what, blogs are pretty similar to the composition book journals you did this fall. When I had you write letters to Edinger House and write comments back I realized what you were doing is what people do with blogs. So here we are starting blogs!
This is the Edinger House blog, but you will each have a blog of your own too. To start you will each be writing in them as you did in your journals. I will give you things to write about. For now, your blogs will be accessible only to the class, myself and Ms. Nickles.
Ms. Nickles and I will go over the specifics with you. It is very, very, very important that you follow all directions and rules. Blogs can be great when they work and not so great when they don’t. We want you to have fun, to write helpful comments to each others (as you did in your journals), and do all sorts of cool things with your blogs! So be patient, learn how to do it all well, and we will have a great time!
