Things That Make “When You Reach Me” a Good Book

When You Reach Me is about a girl who get these letters from — actually I don’t think I should tell you. Well anyway it’s a mysterious book that is good for kid’s that like to have to wait till the end to understand the important things. The girl Miranda’s –or Mira for short– mom is entering a contest called the $200,000 Pyramid and has to practice really hard. All of a sudden this kid punches her best friend Sal and he stops talking to her. The boy who punches Sal turns out to have a mysterious past– and future.

Did Miranda find what the letters meant?

Hi! I am a librarian in Brooklyn and I also had the chance to read an advanced copy of When You Reach Me. I didn’t guess the ending at all! I liked how it comes together so quickly, though. It made the ending very exciting!

  2. This is a short, but perfect post. I especially like the line, “The boy who punches Sal turns out to have a mysterious past – and future.” Very cool!
