Social Studies Books

On Wednesday February 4th we got a historical fiction book. The book I got is called The Captive which is about a boy who is kidnapped. I really like it because It reminds me off the story of Olaudah Equiano. It’s really good historical fiction because the author sets the time and place correctly, for example: ‘My name is Kofi Kwame Paul and I am the first mate on the brig,The Traveller. Kofi was the nae given to me by my family, for I was born on a Friday. The other two names I claimed for myself- Kwame after my natural father and Paul for the man who gave me a second life, the captain of The Traveller, Paul Cuffe…’

  1. You do a good job providing examples about why The Captive is good historically but I didn’t see any comments about whether the facts are balanced with fictional/literacy elements. Are there any you could add?

  2. Hi, c7zt. I noticed that you have a few spelling mistakes and one capitalization mistake in this post. Other than that, I really like it!

  3. Hello again! I like this post.
