House 43 in the Dalton school, has a relationship with a school in New Orleans called Langston Hues Academy. They have been writing letters back an forth, and learning about each other.

I have learned that Jazz started in New Orleans. When I was writing to my buddy, she told me she liked to go to the park like me! In the autumn, my class planted daffodil bulbs in Isham Park. People would pay us to plant the flowers. My class would use the money to buy books, for our buddies’ school. My class and I highly enjoy having a friend, who does not live in our town. It’s very enjoyable to write to our buddies, and get letters back. When our buddies letters come, we are so eager to read them. It’s an experience, not many children have, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to communicate with the children.
