Sarah Margru Kinson was born in Mendland, West Africa. Her life was wonderful until she was nine years old, when her father traded her for rice to a white man. The deal was when the African people had enough rice to pay the withe man back they would trade back, but before they had enough rice the white man sold her people in lomboko. She was afraid of the “white ghosts.” One day the white ghosts came and took her onto a ship called the Amistad.On the Amistad a man called Cinque asked the chef what he was going to do with them and he told him they were going to chop them up and eat them. Cinque picked the lock of his hand cuffs and everyone else’s, that night they had a war on board against the Spanish. The people on the Amistad had many owners but finally they were set free!
