The Oklahoma state Animal is the Buffalo. It was designated the state animal in 1972. It can weigh up to 1800 and stand 6 feet tall, but thats at the shoulder. No other wild animal has made such a role in human history. Native Americans were very familiar with buffalos and ox, bison and such, and there are quite a lot of Native Americans in Oklahoma.
