- state flower-Peach Blossom
- state tree-American Holly
- state bird-Blue Hen Chicken
- state butterfly-Tiger Swallowtail
- state fish-Weakfish
Here is a paragraph about the history.
Delaware is very historical specially the civil war, but first how Delaware got its name was when Samuel Argall named Delaware river and bay after Virginian governor lord De La Warr. Delaware got the current state flag on July 24,1913. The state flag is a buff diamond in a colonial blue background. Underneath the diamond the date December 7,1778 is printed which is the date Delaware agreed with the us constitution which made it the first state in the Union! When the civil war started Delaware did not give in to proposals to join the confederacy. The reason they stayed with the Union was because black Delawareans freeman and slaves fought in the Union army.
Even though Climate and water life water anatomy may seem boring there is a lot of stuff about it in Delaware.
Delaware has a very long coastline which is good because there are many beaches. Their are also many inlets and coves. There are a few salt water marshes too. And many rivers, the most important one is Delaware river which gave Delaware its name. The biggest river is christina brandy river. St. Jones river goes right through the capital of Delaware Dover. Delaware also has a swamp in it, it’s The Great Cypress swamp in south central Delaware. The swamp is filled with bald cypress trees that’s where it got it’s name. Another tree in the swamp is the Patriarch tree which is hundreds of years old, it’s thought to be the oldest tree in Delaware! In the summer duckweed plant makes the swamp look like its covered in slime. In the fall the duckweed turns a light velvet color shade. Because of all the water the temperature is hot and humid around there.
That’s everything I researched about Delaware so I’m finished.

Looks great! A few reminders:
-capitalize proper nouns (names of flowers, animals, places etc.)
-use specific and meaningful language (the word ’stuff’ is not very descriptive!)
-proofread and spellcheck to catch your typos!
