My Last Blog Post

The title says it all. This is my last blog post. For my last post I am going to write about what I liked most and what I would like to do again. I love to link. Linking is my favorite thing because it is like having two posts in one. You can click on a link and you can read someone’s point of view about the same topic without having to search or google or take all of that time. For example, if I was writing about Broadway shows I could give you a link to the Wicked website and you would just click on it and see the official website. Not some rip off place. I would definitely want to see more of that. Well, bye! Have a good life.

The Great and Terrible Oz

What do you think? Was the Wizard of Oz a good version of the book or a bad one. Personally, I think it wasn’t that great. They cut out a ton of stuff, and Dorothy is 10 years older. In Edinger house we had a debate and one side argued that the movie was good and one side said it was bad. Even though I don’t really like the movie I had to argue that it copied the book well. Arguing that the movie was good brought out a few good points. That now that I think about it they really didn’t cut out too much. I am sort of confused. I am in the middle. Because of my belief it was bad before, and arguing now that it was good. Leave a comment write what you think.

All About Alice: Edinger House

In Edinger House as you probably know, we were studying Alice in Wonderland. We got a chapter each (Mine was Chapter 7, The Mad Tea Party), and made drawings and comics. Click here to see chapter 7. We also made posters and web pages on /http://blogs.dalton.org/edinger/projects/alice-2009/ . It was very fun. If you click on the links, you will see the other chapter 7 (My chapter). You will see how maddening it really is.

Wisconsin: Do you know Barbies?

WARNING:              IF YOU THINK BARBIES ARE GROSS AND WIERD DON’T READ THIS POST!!

You know how everyone says that Ken and Barbie are boyfriend and girlfriend? Well, that’s not true! Barbie and Ken are brother and sister. (If you really want to know the whole Barbie History click here.) Barbie dolls were first made in Willows, Wisconsin. If you click on the link you will see the history, but if you don’t, you can only imagine, Barbies were a lot different than now. If you ask me, Barbie has an extremely large head. Well it’s not that large, but it is thin, pointy and long. As you know Barbie has spread all over the world. On every little girl’s wish list I bet there will be something to do with Barbies, even if they don’t know it. After age 10, everyone thinks they are weird and gross, but I think some people still play with them. Anyway, there is even a Barbie website, those Webkinz type things where your Barbie comes to life (click here). If you look at the bottom of the most recent link, you will see the doll from the new link is the same as the old one. Well, that’s pretty much the whole story. If you haven’t looked at any of the links and are interested, go ahead, please. Bye!

Rhode Island: Grapes and Wines

In Rhode Island more than just your average red grapes and green grapes are here, there are all kinds of wineries like, The Grapes of Roth, and Newport Vineyards. Newport Vineyards was originally planted in 1977 on a hill overlooking the Rhode Island Sound. The smell of fresh grapes and the Rhode Island Sound mixed with a cool climate make this spot on of the most desirable farming lands in the country, if not the world. The vineyard is under the care of John and Paul Nunes, who planted up to 60 acres. Francisco Nunes, the great grandfather of John and Paul Nunes, acquires the 51 acre Bailey Farm on Wyatt Road.  Known today as the Nunes Farm, this stone wall lined property is protected from development and planted to 30 acres of vineyard.  The farm dates back to 1701 and is listed on the National Historic Register.
