Edinger House studied forced immigration in January and February 2008. We did it by going on the web, hearing our teacher talk to us, reading books, and watching movies. Why did Forced Immigration happen? Because the people that forced them to do the jobs did not want to do the jobs them selves, also, if they selling slaves gave them money. I REALLY LIKED STUDING FORCED IMMIGRATION!

I wrote a poem about Margru Kingston who was a girl that traveled on the Amistad, she is on the boat at the time and reviewing what has happened in her head.

It says Something Must Change
I thought never to be separated from my mom, dad, sisters, and brothers.
This is my home where I can think about all my problems.
This is home where all the trees, that give off the food in witch I eat.
But all is different now I am not where I should be.
I’ve never seen such a place witch such harsh people.
I am not where I belong.
I am sad though, when I blink my eyes I see my family doing what I want to do sitting down and being with each other.
I wish I could get one more hug, one more kiss before I had to go.
But I can’t.
There must be something good, something happy, leading up to this.
Something I can’t wait till something-something….

My teacher, Ms.Edinger, wrote a book about Margru, who was a girl that traveled on the Amistad, a boat that slaves were carried on. I was reading an online book (that was about her). The story was great; the only thing was it was a bit sad-but my teacher couldn’t change; that it’s a true story! Well partly true-based on a true story. (What, it would be hard to find out exactly what she was thinking.) The book is in the form of poetry and just regular words. At kind of the end-ish part she gets a Christian name that is Sarah Margru Kingston. It’s a really cool story, I think you should read it!
