This is a poem I wrote here it is,

This series called Warriors is my favorite series,I’ve read every book in the series. This series is by a man called Erin Hunter and I personally thin the man is a geneous. The is a tribal leader, a deputy, the warriors, the apprentinces, the kits/kittens and the elder/retired warriors and that is a full tribe. There are five clans/tribes, River clan, Wind clan,Thunder clan, Shadow clan and Star Clan/ Heaven to humans who they call two legs and they call our cars monsters and our road thunder path. They have a cerimoial area where all clans meat and I no tgoing to tell you anymore.
There were other people on the Amistad besides Cinque. For example my teacher wrote about another person on the boat,( which is a non fiction book) her name was Sarah Margru Kinson. She was about 12 when she got captured with her two best friends Kange and Teme. In this book she tells her point of view on the boat. what happened and how they had their first trial at Supreme Court. They win eventually and a very kind man who bileves in freedom for blacks helps them win the case. Their lawyer is John Quincy Adams and I won’t tell you any more because I don’t want to ruin the story!
This post is about my third grade buddy who has a buddy in New Orleans and this is a summery of what they are doing.
When I first found out that I was getting a New Orleans buddy I felt a bit scared. I was afraid because I wondered if my buddy would like me or not. After a couple of weeks me and my buddy were writing to each other. I have two buddies from the Lusher School in New Orleans. The Lusher School opened in 1913 and it was about the size of Dalton. Like Dalton The Lusher School was made up of two Buildings, and made up of two brown stones in the lower school. Our buddies in New Orleans are in the third grade. Right now our New Orleans buddies are planting trees called The Southern Bald Cypress. The bald cypresses are being eaten by other animals and being destroyed because many houses are being built in the New Orleans wetlands. When the house are built they talk all the water and the trees ( mostly the bald cypress beacuase those are more inportant trees in the New Orleans wetlands) don’t have any water and die. The other reason the bald cypress are dying beacause of a beaver like animal called the Nutria. The Nutria are eating the saplings ( baby trees). Our buddies in the Lusher School are planting the bald cypress to rebuild the New Orleans wetlands. So no Nutria get in the Lusher School put their trees in a big strong metal fence. They built a big water tower and laid out water pipes. They dug up some earth and put out pipes so they could make a sprinkler. Then the school planted the Cypress trees. Lusher Elementary School opened in 1913 and is still hard at work!

This year in The Dalton School I saw the play the The Tempest and I loved it! Tempest means storm. The Tempest is a play written by a famous man named Shakespeare. My favorite song was Juno. Juno is a goddess who blesses people. I also liked the begining of the show. If i could chose on character was Ariel she is a servant for a powerful wizard named Prospero she can turn herself into almost anything she wants to and she can turn invisebel and loves to create mischief. Meranda is the main character who falls in love with a mortal a.k.a a human. Okay I’ll stop but I think you should really see this play.
In Edinger House this year our biggest topic is immigration. We read historical fiction books and mine was called Behind The Mountains. This book is a very good example of historical fiction.I really liked this book about immigration. This book is based on the person who wrote the book, Edwidge Danticat, who is a girl, by the way. Behind the Mountains is about a girl named Celiane. She has brother named Moy and she calls her mother Manman aka Aline, her teacher’s name is Madam Auguste and her best friend’s name is Therese and they go to the same school. On page one there is an example of research of language the sentence is, “Ti liv mwen my sweet little book.” Beau Jour (where Celiane lived) was very mountainous. Another example poetic woman when it came to writing this book. Some examples are fog shifts, rain tapping on the tin roof, rainbow sun showers and golden sap.
This year we have been studying about immigrants. We have interviewed somebody that we know that is from a different country that came to America. They told about their journey what it was like in their old country and new country. Then we transcribed it and choose which we would use later on to write a book. After that we made a book dummy and then our book. This book is about my grandmother who came from Barbados. It took her two weeks to get to America by boat. She had her aunt in New York. She said” It was very scary being in America because the buildings were so tall and The buildings back home were not buildings at all but small houses.” When she came to America she worked for a nursing house in a hospital but now she is retired. She really wishes she could go back to Barbados.

I saw that the person wrote about things like their Cinderella story, how blogging and their experience with it was, Plymouth and what they did, and The Wizard of Oz. They posted their experience with their New Orleans pen pal. They learned about their cultures and they became best friends( I still wonder if they keep in touch ). She or he wrote about a play called ” Half a Sixpence” and she talked about how she or he liked it. The person posted the book she read for an immigration project the book was named ” How I Became an American.” They wrote some kind of poem with a full picture about it. The person wrote about a book he or she read Called” Eragon”, The person explains the story line and if he or she liked the book.
