My life in fourth grade was scary at first because there were many more people. At the beginning of the year our teacher gave us journals so we could write back and forth to her every week. Then we got e-mails! So every week instead of writing in our journals, she would send us emails and we would reply.
Then later on in January, we got our blogs and then we started writing about what we did in school and every time we finished a book, or just saw a movie we could write about it.
Now sadly I’m on my last blog post and starting on Friday we can’t post anymore but you viewers will still be able to see my blog. I had a really fun time blogging and I always tell my family when I’ve added a new post. I think I was really lucky to have been put in the only fourth grade class who has their own individual blogs.
Today our buddies from little Dalton are going to interview us about big Daltlon. They are going to use the questions that we used for our interview for our forced immigration unit. They altered them to make sense because they’re doing the interview for going to big Dalton.
Here is the interview,
My partner and I have started comic life. We take the pictures and scenes and put them together into little unique shaped boxes on pieces of paper to create a comic! We have a couple of scenes here are a few. The Meeting, Storming off, You Are Old Father William, and Little house. To use comic life takes a lot of practice here are some tips so you won’t do the wrong things. First once you’ve chosen a paper with panels click on one of the panel and go to details on the top, scroll down to were it says lock and press it this will help you when you are loading in pictures. Well I will report back to you when I am done with my partner and my comic.
After all that boring writing we started pictures the three backrounds . One was called The Meeting, ” You are old father William , and Little House. My partner did the characters William , The youth, Alice , and the caterpillar. Our theme is sports In our first and last scene the clouds are shaped like footballs and baseballs and there is a basketball in the corner of a tree. Then the caterpillar makes Alice mad and she is about to storm of when he calls her back. She says she is losing her memory and the caterpillar tells her to recite You are old father William. Thats all for now folks!

Him Sorrel and Ben set out to find tha mountains. Do you think they will find it?
For my chapter I got chapter 5 Advice from the Caterpillar. First we had to make a script for the chapter we couldn’t do the whole chapter because it would be to long and some people have two chapters. Here is my script,
Draft 1
Caterpillar-Who are you?
Alice- I don’t know Sir. I knew this morning, but now I don’t.
Caterpillar-What do you mean by that?
Alice- I can’t explain Sir. I’m just not myself.
Caterpillar-I don’t see what you mean.
Alice- I am afraid I can’t put it clearer. Being so many sizes in one day is quite confusing.
Caterpillar-what do you mean?
Alice- Maybe you haven’t found out yet, but when you become a butterfly, you will feel queer.
Caterpillar-You, WHO ARE YOU!
(Alice storms off.)
Caterpillar- Wait! Come back I have something important to say. Keep you temper.
Alice- Is that all?!!
Caterpillar-No.
Alice- I am losing my memory.
Caterpillar- Recite You are Old Father William.
Alice- ‘You are old, Father William’ the young man said. ‘And your hair has become very white, and yet you still stand on your head. Do you think at your age it is right?’
‘In my youth,’ Father William replied to his son. ‘I feared it might injure my brain, but now I am perfectly sure I have none. Why, I do it again and again.’
‘You are old,’ said the youth. ‘One would hardly suppose, that your eye was as steady as ever yet you balanced an eel at the end of your nose. What made you so awfully clever?’
‘I have answered three questions, and that is enough,’ said his father. ‘Don’t give your self air’s! Do you think I can listen all day to such stuff? Be off or I’ll kick you down the stairs!’
Caterpillar- That is not quite right.
Alice- Not quite right indeed.
Caterpillar- What size do you want to be?
Alice- Oh I don’t care, I just don’t like changing sizes so often. You know.
Caterpillar- No, I don’t know. Are you content now?
Alice- I want to be a little larger because I don’t like being three inches tall!
Caterpillar-One side of the mushroom makes you taller and the other shorter.
(Caterpillar disappears)
Alice- Which side is which?
(Takes a from each side. Nibbles on the one in her left hand. Grows a long neck.)
Alice- Finally my neck is shrinking!
(Finds little house
After that we could start the illoustrations, I did the back round and my partner did the characters.
Thats all for now folks!
Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carol is what we are studying in Edinger House this year. First our teacher read it to us while we followed along to our selves. Since our teacher had many different virsions so we took a different book each time. We watched videos about it and from it’s time( 1900s house, Betty Boop in Bunderland, and The young visiters. We learned about Lewis Carrol and why he wrote Alice in Wonderland( it was because he loved telling stories even though he was a collage math profesor). We learnd about Alice liddle( who acctually had short brown hair not long blond hair) and her sisters. We chose chapters to turn into a comic with a partner. And that is what we did so far.
This year in Edinger house we studied forced immigration/slavery. We saw a movie and some shows. Our teacher read books to us, about Africa(where the slaves were captured) and about slavery. The slaves were captured and taken across the ocean and one very famous ship was The Amistad. We went on a trip to the African Burial ground and we saw part of a movie about African slavery. I loved learning about my history!
Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! is a book set in a medieval time filled with monologues for young people who want to learn more about medieval times. I read a monologue called “Alice, the Shepherdess.” ( I read it on a podcast.) Here it is:
