Good Masters! Sweet Ladies!
I did a podcast in school on the Newbery award book, Good Masters! Sweet Ladies!. Each person in the class did one dialogue, or monologue. I did a monologue about Simon, The Knights Son. It is about a boy that wants to be a knight. His father is a knight and he fought in the Crusades. Though Simon wants to be a knight his mother says he has to be a priest because they’re too poor. I chose this story because I think it is an interesting monologue.

Awesome!
It sounds like you might have enjoyed being a knight! Hope you don’t have to choose between careers! Thanks for sharing these monologues with us. We love that kids are performing this wonderful book! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for reading Simon’s story. You seemed like you were having fun. do you know a lot aobut knights already? So much to know and learn about the Middle Ages. My favorite story about knights is “Knight’s Fee” by Rosemary Sutcliff. It’s out of print and hard to find, but if you ever can find it, it is a great story about knights and squires and battle and loyalty and honor. Just hearing you read about Simon reminded me — so thanks, and I hope you had as much fun as I did. Carol

That’s a great monologue. You can certainly see which career Simon would like to have. Thank you for posting this.
