In Alice comics, now we have finished our script here is the ending part. We have edited it with Ms. Edinger. We have shortened it.

***There is more writing at the end of the script!***

Chapter 7-Mad Tea Party
1. Arrives at tea party
D: Alice arrived at the March Hare’s house. The March Hare, the Hatter and the Dormouse were having a tea party.
Hatter: No Room No Room!
Alice: There is so room!

2. Conversation about how Alice was being rude
March Hare: Have some wine
Alice: There is none!
March Hare: Of course there is no wine, it’s a tea party,
Alice: Then it wasn’t very civil for you to offer it then,
March Hare: It wasn’t very civil for you to sit down at our table, Hatter: You should cut your hair,
Alice: It’s not that nice to make personal remarks,

3. Riddle
Hatter: Why is a Raven like a writing desk?
Alice I can answer that,
MH: Do you mean that you can find out the answer?
Alice: Exactly so.
MH Then you should say what you mean.
Alice: I do. I mean at least I mean what I say. It’s the same thing, you know.
MH Not at all. If so, then you might just say I see what I eat is the same thing as I eat what I see.

4. What day of the month it is
Hatter What day of the month is it? (Drawing of H looking at his watch)
Alice: The fourth.
Hatter: Two days wrong!

5. Butter
Hatter: I told you the butter would not work!
MH It was the best butter,
Hatter Yes, but some crumbs got into it as well. You shouldn’t have used a bread knife. (The March Hare took the watch and observed it and then dipped it into his tea.)
MH It was the best butter, you know.

6. Watch
Alice: What an unusual watch, (close up of watch.) It tells the date of the month but not what o’clock it is.
Hatter Why should it? Does your watch tell the year?
Alice. But that’s because it stays the same year for such a long time.
Hatter: Which is just the case with mine,
Alice: I don’t quite understand,
Hatter: Have you guessed the riddle yet?
Alice: No I give up, what’s the answer?
Hatter I don’t know.
Alice: I think you might do something better with the time rather then wasting your time with riddles you don’t know the answer to,

7. Twinkle song
MH I wish it was time for dinner.
A that would be grand but the problem would be I would not be hungry.
H Not at first, but we can keep it as long as half past one as long as you like.
A is that the way you manage?
H not I. We quarreled last March just before the March Hare went mad. It was a great concert given by the Queen of Hearts and I had to sing:

Twinkle, twinkle stupid rat! How I wonder what your at.
Way low down the world so low! Like an idiotic foe!
Twinkle twinkle stupid rat! How I wonder what your at!
Eating cheese till you’re fat! Twinkle twinkle stupid rat!

I barely had gone through the first when the Queen said, ‘He’s murdering the time. Off with his head!’
A How dreadful!

8. Leaving party
H You shouldn’t talk.
Alice: You are just too rude. I’m leaving.

9. Gets key
(Draw this: Once more, Alice found herself in the long hall right next to the glass table. Then she started to nibble on the mushroom so she was about a foot high. She took the key and unlocked the door.)
10. Goes to garden
(Draw this: Then all of the sudden she found her self in a beautiful garden with roses and a lot of fountains.)

P. S. The twinkle song is our idea.

So far we have illistrated the Hatter and the March Hare’s house. I am working on the March Hare and my partner, c16sh1 is drawing the tea party. We haven’t scanned anything in yet but the next post will probably have picture.

C16sh1 and I are making a comic about chapter 7 which is called The Mad Tea Party. We are still making a script of the chapter. Our characters are the March Hare, the Hatter, the Doormouse, and Alice. We chose our scenes and then I typed and c16sh1 chose the script. Because our chapter has a lot of conversation, we had to cut a lot. I am including our script which is not finished but is almost finished. I got very tired of typing the quotation marks and typing “said Alice.” so for the end part I typed “MH (March Hare) It was the best butter, you know.” The scenes are in bold. Here it is:

Chapter 7-Mad Tea Party
1. Arrives at tea party
Alice arrived at the March Hare’s house. The March Hare, the Hatter and the Doormouse were having a tea party. The Hatter said there was no room at the table but she insisted.
2. Conversation about how Alice was being rude
“Have some wine,” said the March Hare. “There is none!” replied Alice. “Of course there is no wine, it’s a tea party,” said the March Hare. “Then it wasn’t very civil for you to offer it then,” said Alice in an angry tone.” “It wasn’t very civil for you to sit down at our table,” the March Hare shot back. “ You should cut your hair,” the Hatter remarked to Alice. “It’s not that nice to make personal remarks,” Alice said.
3. Riddle
The Hatter looked up at Alice and only said, “Why is a Raven like a writing desk?” “I can answer that,” said Alice. “Do you mean that you can find out the answer?” asked the March Hare. “Exactly so.” “Then you should say what you mean.” “I do. I mean at least I mean what I say. It’s the same thing, you know.” “Not at all. If so, then you might just say I see what I eat is the same thing as I eat what I see.”
4. What day of the month it is
There was a awkward moment of silence until the Hatter said, “What day of the month is it?” He took out his watch and stared at Alice. Alice thought for a minute and replied, “The fourth.” The Hatter said, “Two days wrong!”
5. Butter
“I told you the butter would not work!” said the Hatter to the March Hare. The March Hare replied, “It was the best butter,” he meekly replied. “Yes, but some crumbs got into it as well,” said the Hatter. “You shouldn’t have used a bread knife.” The March Hare took the watch and observed it and then dipped it into his tea. He said again, “It was the best butter, you know.”

6. Watch
“What a unusual watch,” said Alice. “It tells the date of the month but not what o’clock it is.” The Hatter said, “Why should it? Does your watch tell the year?” “Of course not,” said Alice. “But that’s because it stays the same year for such a long time.” “Which is just the case with mine,” said the Hatter. Alice felt very puzzled. The Hatter’s remark seemed to have no meaning, but it was still English. “I don’t quite understand,” said Alice. “Have you guessed the riddle yet?” “No I give up, what’s the answer?” asked Alice. The Hatter replied, “I don’t know.” “I think you might do something better with the time rather then wasting your time with riddles you don’t know the answer to,” said Alice.
7. Twinkle song
MH I wish it was time for dinner.
A that would be grand but the problem would be I would not be hungry.
H Not at first, but we can keep it as long as half past one as long as you like.
A is that the way you manage?
H not I. We quarrled last March just before the March Hare went mad. It was a great concert given by the Queen of Hearts and I had to sing:

8. Leaving party

9. Gets key

10. Goes to garden

Now that we have finished our Cinderella unit, we are studying the famous tale, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. If you have not read the book, click here. The first thing we did was have our teacher, Ms. Edinger read it to us as we followed along in many different versions. We also watched videos about it and it’s time like Betty in Blunderland, 1900 House, and The Young Visiters. We learned about Lewis Carroll and why he wrote the book, and we learned about Alice Liddell. Now we are making a comic with a partner. My partner is c16sh1 and we are making a comic from the chapter 7-The Mad Tea Party.
