Officially My FAVORITE BOOK!!! Doodlebug by Karen Romano Young
This is officially my FAVORITE BOOK IN THE WORLD!!! I could end the post like that, but I have to write more.
This book is cool and unique because it is written in a series or doodles!! The name says it all. Doreen Bussy doesn’t like to doodle, she needs to. She is The Doodlebug. But when her family moves and she has to change schools, her teachers have a problem with her doodling, and she has to show them that she can focus while doodling, if not better than without it. I can relate to this 100%. Doodling should be allowed, or if not, suggested. Because when you’re doodling, you’re getting rid of all the nervous energy and tension in you, so you can focus and channel your energy to other things. And Doodlebug has some other things on her mind, like her sister, who is an amazing singer not being excepted into the school’s choir, her parents clinging to their jobs by their fingertips, and her cat Sven who ran away (of COURSE i loved this book: doodling and cats!!). But thank GOODNESS the ending wasn’t sad because I really needed a sweet ending. I don’t think I could deal with more sad books!! I fell in love with this book, which comes out in Spring of 2010!!!
READ IT!!!!!
