Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! - Otho

In class, we read the book Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! The book is a Newbery winner, you know. My teacher helped pick it! In class, we had to pick a different part to read. Mine was Otho, the miller’s son. I really liked that part. The reason we did it is my teacher helped pick it, duh. Enjoy!

Thanks for doing Otho! I think he is the most cynical of all the characters, but also sad. I loved hearing you read aloud his words. It must have been awful to live in the Middle Ages and feel so stuck in your life with no hope for change. Carol

  2. Otho does seem the most cynical of the voices that I have heard so far. Your reading brought out the mechanical, repetitive sound of the meter and the rhyme that Schlitz chose for this piece. It was just like the mill wheel turning and the inevitability of Otho growing up to be like his father and like his father before him. Good job.
