This is my final post of the 2007-2008 school year. For this post, I will tell you how it felt to do a blog.
Doing a blog was so much fun. I loved it! I liked how it was a way to share my experiences with other people, as well as myself. I also think that there should be another way for us to do blogs next year, since it was so fun!
O. k., so now that I’m done, I want to say bye. I might see you next year, but for now, good-bye!
Now I hope you all have read my review about the book (to see it go here,) I am going to tell you about the movie and compare them. So, the question is: Is the movie a good adaption of the book?
First of all, if you don’t know about the movie (you should know about the book because of the link above,) the movie is the same thing as the book, but some things have changed. Like that the silver shoes are ruby. Too learn a little more about the movie, go here.
O.k., so now that you know about the movie and the book, I will tell you what I think. I think that it was a pretty good adaption, but I would have wished that the that they don’t change any parts on the book. I think the book is better.
Here are three reasons why I think that:
- I really like the Kalidahs (Bears with Lion’s heads,) but they’re not in the movie.
- They take out the part about the Golden Cap.
- They also take out the part where they go to the south.
I really like The book and the movie, so you should really read the book and watch the movie.
My little buddy interviewed me about immigration to Big Dalton. They are going to go there next year. So they are going to use the same questions as in the fall when I interviewed, except changed a little. So here’s the interview:
We finished our Alice comic, we were chapters 2 & 3, me and c16as1, to see it go here. To see the other chapters, go here. To get more information on what we did, go to part 1, 2, 3, and 4.
So, after we finished our comics, we all had an Alice tea party. We all brought treats, and I brought the scones. It was so good. We also presented our comics, and some people (not me) played stick the smile on the Cheshire Cat (which is like pin the tale on the donkey)!
As I did this project, I think I got a little more experience with Alice in Wonderland, since in the beginning, I only saw the Disney movie. But after I read the book, I knew more about Alice. You should read it!
I just read The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I loved it. It is about a girl named Dorothy Who goes to the land of Oz. There she has many adventures, including killing both wicked witches! You should read it. I recommend it.
Our forced immigration unit was from January to February. It was so fun! We read books, we listed to our teacher talk, searched the web, took trips and watched movies. We learned about slavery and how people were forced to immigrate. It was hard as a slave to travel across the Atlantic because they treated you badly. It was hard because they gave you little food and chained you together.
I loved this unit!
We started comic life! It is so fun! I love it!
Here is what we did:
- We learned how to put pictures into panels
- We learned how to put speech bubbles and captions in
- We learned how to change the font
I’ll show you my comic when I’m done!
This is my Amistad poem. It is about a man on the Amistad.

My character’s name is William Goodman. He has left his grandfather at Leyden. He was too old. Past the age limit. This is a letter that he wrote back to him. It is in pilgrim language. Try to decode it (Pilgrim language is a weird language where somethings are weird, but not everything.)

William can’t wait for the next letter. But something happens…
We have now done a lot of illustrations. All of them! We are ready for comic life. My illustrations are awesome. I can’t wait to start my comic!
So, here are some of my pictures:

See you soon!
