Hi I’m back again!

This is my Cindy story and podcast.

The Farmer

Once there was a young farmer named Max. He lived on a farm in Austin, Texas with his two twin brothers named Odis and Bill. Their mother and father had died a couple years ago and left Odis and Bill in charge of the farm, animals, and Max.

One day a very fancy truck drove up to their barn where Max was working and Odis and Bill were sitting.

Ashley’s father (Ashley is the richest girl in Austin Texas and she is very pretty) stepped out of the truck and said, “Ashley is having a rodeo tomorrow night and whoever she falls in love with she will marry the next time possible.” And then he rode off in his truck.

Then Bill said, “Can you believe the richest girl Ashley is going to get married?”

“Ya!” said Max, “is that cool or what?”

Max really likes her a lot because they have a lot in common. But Odis and Bill only want to marry her for her money.

“Get back to work cleaning the barn!” said Odis.

Bill said, “No! Max, get my clothes and fancy horse ready for tomorrow night’s rodeo so Ashley will want to marry me! ”

“Get my stuff ready for tomorrow night’s rodeo too,” said Odis.

When it came time for the rodeo Max asked Odis and Bill, “Can I please go to the rodeo? I really want to, plus I won’t interfere with you and Ashley.”

Odis and Bill said, “Max you can’t go to the rodeo because you’re so ugly and no one will like you especially Ashley. You also have to take care of the farm and animals tonight while we’re at the rodeo.”

Then Odis and Bill rode off on their horses.

Max became so sad that he could not go to the rodeo that he sat down and started to cry.

Suddenly out of nowhere a man appeared and Max asked, “Who are you?”

“I am your fairy farmer. My name is Zack. Now what are you crying about?” said Zack.

“I want to go to Ashley’s rodeo but I can’t go dressed like this and I have to take care of the farm and animals,” said Max.

“That shouldn’t be a problem,” said the fairy Zack. Then Zack said, “Pip pip let the magic fall on you.”

Max’s rodeo clothes, boots, pocketknife, and cowboy hat that he was wearing suddenly were as good as new.

Max said, “Thanks! But who’s going to take care of the farm and animals tonight?”

Then the fairy said, “I can take care of that.”

Then Zack said some more magical words and a couple of dogs turned into men, taking care of the farm and other animals.

“But how am I going to get to the rodeo?” said Max.

“Do you have a driver”s license?” said Zack.

Max replied, “I do.” Zack turned a cow into a fancy red truck for Max.

Then Zack said, “You must be back by 12 o’clock midnight because everything will go back to normal. Make sure you are back before your brothers or they will find out and be very mad. You can not tell anyone about me or else I will never help you again.”

Max said, “Ok.” Then he drove off in his truck.

When he got to the rodeo it was 10:30 pm. Ashley saw him get out of the truck. She stopped dancing.

She went over to Max and said, “Will you dance with me?”

He said, “Yes.”

She fell in love with him because they had so much in common and she thought he was very handsome.

So they rode a mechanical bull and went square dancing. Max wasn’t paying attention and he heard the clock strike midnight and ran to his truck!

Ashley called, “Wait!!” But he didn’t wait. He drove off to the farm.

But when he was running to his truck he slipped and left one of his cowboy boots and his pocketknife at the rodeo. He was so lucky that he got back to the farm before his brothers.

So the next day Ashley called every man to the farm where the rodeo took place.

Ashley said, “Every man has to try on the cowboy boot and know how to use the knife.”

A lot of men cut off their heel, toes, or their foot with the knife so that they could fit in the boot and marry Ashley. But she saw the blood on everyone’s feet.

But when Max tried on the boot and held the knife, Ashley knew he was the man she had fell in love with at the rodeo last night.

So the next day they were on the front page of the newspaper. It said they were getting married and everyone could come to the wedding.

But when Bill and Odis saw that, they got so pissed off that they tried to destroy everything and stop the weddin the next day. But the sheriffs got them and put them in jail for a couple of years. So they got their punishment and Max got revenge on Odis and Bill.

Ashley and Max got married the next day and they lived happily ever after!

Plus Max and Ashley lived in a very big house on a very big farm and Odis and Bill became their servants.

Hi I’m back,

This is my Amistad Poetry. This goes with Margru. It is from Margru’s point of view.

Here is a translation.

My home,

I feel everyone hug me that’s in my family,

I think of my loving friends,

I remember my memories of home,

I can smell all the food we had there,

I can see us play all the games we played,

I hear us screaming when we had all the fun we had,

I think up a storm of dreams that I had in my own bed,

But now I am gone,

But I will not stop thinking and dreaming of my home,

Because I will be back some day,

I will live this all over again,

I will always think and dream of my home.

Hi I’m back,

Joey Pigza is a series by Jack Gantos. He wrote four books and one is called I Am Not Joey Pigza. This one is my favorite. I think it is the best and it is so funny. It is about a kid named Joey Pigza.

Joey is a very crazy kid. His dad left him when he was little. His dad changed his name and how he acts and Joey hates his dad and now his mom and dad are getting remarried and forgetting all of the past. This is a big surprise to Joey because they have been secretly dating behind his back for months.

His dad just won the lottery and got a little amount of money. With the money he bought a

diner and they now live there and Joey stopped going to school and they all changed their names and now Joey Pigza is not his name it is Freddy Heinz. Since his parents quite their jobs they now all work at the diner now.

Freddy now finds out that his mom is pregnant and she has a baby and his dad gets his face rearranged and he runs away write after his mom gives birth.

It’s me again. This is a story about a girl named Margru. Please read this if you want to learn more.

Margru is a girl that lived in Meneland West Africa. When she was about 12 she was traded by her father to white men for food. The white men only wanted her because they could sell her to other white men and they would just get the money for her.

She was sent on a ship to Cuba where she was sold to another white man with three other children named Cinque (he was the boy) and two girls named Kagne and Teme. But since they were not aloud to take slaves from Africa the white man used fake passports that said they were from Cuba. Then the white man took them on another boat and they all got a banana and some water for food.

Once they were out of the bay they heard them talking and they thought they were going to eat them. So Cinque decided to capture the white me on the boat with them. The four kids were chained up so they had to get out of them so Cinque found a large nail sticking up out of the floor and he picked the lock with the nail.

When they got out of the chains Cinque said that he was going to lock the white men up in the chains and sail the ship that they were on back to Meneland West Africa where they were from and where they lived with there family.

So Cinque did exactly that but he did not get very far from where they where they were when a boat full of Spaniards came up to there boat and recaptured them and took the chains off the white men and put the chains on them.

The Spaniards took them into many different courts and jails. They had to prove that they were innocent because it was illegal to take slaves from Africa.

Finally one day they proved that they were innocent and they could go home but they did not have enough money to get a ship to take them home but finally they had enough money to take them home so they did go home in November, 1841.

They were home but Margru went to Orblin College in Ohio. Then she became a schoolteacher in Africa and got married.

The End

I thought that the part where they cannot get enough money to go home after they won the court case was kind of sad because they won and now they cannot get home and there all happy because they won the court case but when they got enough money to go home was happy. I think it is a good story and I really liked it.

I also think when Cinque found the nail and he picked the lock on the chains was smart to. Also when they put the chains on the white men and locked them up was smart.

I thought that when Margru’s father was smart when he traded her to the white men because he knew that you could not take slaves from Africa. So he knew he would get her back some day. But also he was smart because they really needed the money so they could buy food because they were very poor so they needed the food or else they would starve to death and die.

This is a true fact about Margru her real name is Sarah Margru Kinson. Also Margru means black snake.

I think that this story is kind of sad don’t you? But this is a very good story based on Sarah Margru Kinson’s life and 90% of this information is true. It was written by Monica Dinger who is my teacher.

When I found out that I was going to have a New Orleans buddy I was exited. I also wondered who it was I finally found out it was Matthew. It was fun to learn about someone who lived so far away. It was surprising to know that we had so many things in common.

After the hurricane, New Orleans needed a lot of rebuilding. The Lusher School and other schools are growing trees to save the wetlands. They celebrate Mardi Gras (fat Tuesday), which are Feb 5, the day before Ash Wednesday day.

My buddies’ class is making a nursery for trees. The kind of tree they are planting is called a Southern Bald Cypress. There is a problem an animal called Nutria is eating the seeds before the plants grow. It is very special to have a buddy that is very far away. As I said before we have a lot of similarities. For example we’re both in third grade. We both like football, his favorite team is the Saints and mine is the Giants. Both of our schools are located in town houses. We both live in big cities. It’s a shame that we live so far from each other because I wish I could hang out with my buddy.

Hi I go to The Dalton School and the Dalton Middle School put on a play called The Tempest by William Shakespeare. I thought it was really amazing because they had good lights, music, costumes, scenery, and singers and all this was done by middle schoolers. they had all the same characters as the original play. I really think they did a good job. I felt like I was at a Broadway play. They really had to work hard and they had to work hard. Bravo! for the actors and every one who helped with the play.

Hi it’s me; here is a historical fiction book called The Journal of Wong Ming-Chung by Laurence Yep. In it I learned that in 1849 miners had found gold at the Golden Mountain in California. I also learned that people could not get into America because you had to take a test to get into America. A lot more people from China died when they were stuck at Angel Island than on the boat to America. In this story people had a lot of trouble building houses in America. Here are some examples of the author’s writing: “There is never a blue sky without a cloud in it.” and “basket full of dangers.” That’s all; if you want to learn more read the book.

For my oral history book I interviewed my sitter. I had to write a book about immigration because in school we are studying immigration so our teachers thought it would help us learn about immigration. My book is about my sitter immigrating from Guyana. She said it was hard but fun at the same time. I think it was a hard and long project. At the end we had a big presentation on our books and I gave my book to her and she loved it a lot. I thought it was a lot of fun.

Hi this is my very first blog post! I have just read one of last year’s kids blogs and it was pretty good. I liked it because he wrote about interesting things like Cinderella, forced immigration, how friendship is important, and The Wizard of OZ. He wrote with good punctuation, spelling, and it made sense. He was a really good writer. My favorite post was about how friendship is important. I hope I am as good as him.
