The Journal of Wong Ming-Chung

Hi it’s me; here is a historical fiction book called The Journal of Wong Ming-Chung by Laurence Yep. In it I learned that in 1849 miners had found gold at the Golden Mountain in California. I also learned that people could not get into America because you had to take a test to get into America. A lot more people from China died when they were stuck at Angel Island than on the boat to America. In this story people had a lot of trouble building houses in America. Here are some examples of the author’s writing: “There is never a blue sky without a cloud in it.” and “basket full of dangers.” That’s all; if you want to learn more read the book.

  1. I have read that book and I also think that it is a great book. I, too, learned a lot of stuff. But I think you should add a little bit more information about the book. Can’t wait till your next post!

  2. I think this post was very good, but in some parts of it I think that if I hadn’t read the book I wouldn’t have any idea what you were talking about. I also think that that you also said “here are…” too much. But everywhere else I think it’s great!

  3. I like how you said stuff that you learned I also like how you said examples of how he is a good writer

  4. Looks like you have some fans who want to know more about the book!
