I am back and it is the end of the school year in two days and only one day left of classes. I am so sad that it is almost the end of the school year because I do not want to leave forth grade because it is so much fun and it feels like it went by so fast because we were having so much fun! I really like my teacher Ms. Edinger because she is so much fun and we do so many fun projects with her and she definitely is the best home room teacher I have had so far in the whole time I have been at Dalton and in my whole life!

For some examples of some fun projects we have done with Ms. Edinger are: E. B. White boxes, Alice comics, Wizard of Oz, Margru, Forced Immigration, Immigration, Immigration Interviews and Stories, Journals, BLOGS, Pilgrims and Our Field Trips like going to Plymoth Plantation and The Mayflower II.

I think forth grade is magical because of how much fun we have!

The Wizard of Oz is a famous and very popular book written by L. Frank Baum. It has been very successful ever since he wrote it. Kids and their families have read and liked the book for generations.

I think that the MGM’s Wizard of Oz movie is a good adoption to the book except that in the movie they skip some of the parts that are in the book. The movie is also a very popular thing to and is also very famous and has been around for generations and people have loved it.

Dorothy is a very famous  character in the world and her little famous dog who is always with her Toto. As you probably know the main characters are The Tin Man, The Scarecrow, The Lion, Toto and Dorothy. Also two very famous songs from the movie and the book are Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Were Off To See The Wizard.

Today our Little Dalton buddies from house 43 are going to use some of the same questions from our immigration unit on how we immigrated from Little Dalton to Big Dalton. Hi I am back!

Donuthead is a book written by Sue Stauffacher. It is about a boy who has fears of pretty much everything. He then learns to get rid of his fears and he joins a baseball team. He joins the team because ever since he was little his mother wanted him to grow up and play third base for the New York Yankees. Also in school a girl in his class named Sarah Kervick is a bully and his mother brings Sarah to friendship with Donuthead. Then they become very good friends and Sarah teaches Donuthead to play baseball and his mother wants to hire Sarah to work for her because Sarah wants a job.

I think that it is a very good book and I really like it. I also think it is a very interesting book. You should read it too it is very good. Read it! It is called Donuthead by Sue Stauffacher read it!

Hi I am back!

Now in Alice we are doing Comic Life. Comic Life is a program that you can use to take pictures and make them into a comic that you can personilize. I am almost done with my comic and it is really cool and I have backround colors, speech bubbles, thought bubbles, captions, pictures, a cover, and windows around the pictures. I do not know if I can make a link to my comic in this post and if I can it will be at the end of this post. I think you will really like it when you see it but I am not fully done.

After we finish our comics we will have our Alice Tea Party which I will do another post about it later. So bye for now and I will try to put my comic in below!

I went to Plymouth Massachusetts as a class trip on Thursday April 17th, 2008 for school and I went with the rest of my grade. The first thing we did when we got there is we went to a exact replica of the Mayflower called The Mayflower II. On the ship we met a lady and we got to ask her a lot of questions about the way they lived back then. But we had to be careful of the way we talked to her or else she would be offended. Also she did not know about a lot of things we were talking about.

Then we went and walked around town where the original settlement was and there was signs all around town saying that this house was where the sow and sows lived. Also we went to a cemetery where a lot of pilgrims were berried and we saw William Bradford’s grave. We also saw a lot of other peoples graves.

Next we went to Plymouth Plantation. There we went to the craft museum and we saw a woman making a new sail for the Mayflower II and another woman painting pottery.

Then we went to the Native American village. There we saw a couple of houses and we saw a man making a canoe. We also saw a couple of people cooking and some kids playing. We got to go into a couple of houses and we got to try digging ashes out of the canoe.

Then we got to play a little before dinner. At dinner we had turkey, cooked carrots, grapes, and johny cakes. We ate pilgrim style so we used pilgrim manners which were your napkin if you were a lady you would put your napkin on your lap and if you were a man you put your napkin over your left sholder and if you moved around in your seat they thought you had gas. Also the people in the middle were the honered people and the people at the head of the table were the servants. Also your utensils were a spoon and a knife not a fork because you would use your fingers.

Then the next day we went to the pilgrim vilage and we got to do a lot of work and talk to pilgrims and go in houses and ask questions about there life back then. The work we did is we worked in a garden and we got to put mud on the sides of one of the houses. Then we got to look around and then we had lunch and left.

Hi I’m back!

Now for Alice I am taking all of these pictures and making them into a comic using Comic Life for the Mac. Now I have some pictures that I am going to use in my comic so here they are below.

So there are the pictures. I really do not have anything else to show you because I showed  you everything else in the last too posts. I deffenetly will show you more stuff on my blog. So bye for now!

In school we studied forced immigration about two months ago. We studied it by reading books, and we went on a couple of field trips. One of the field trips was to an African burial ground downtown. There the guide taught us that they found it when they were digging for a new building. It means that people did not care that Africans were buried below. We also read Margru, which is another post on my blog. We also wrote Amistad poetry, also on my blog. We learned a lot in our study and it was very fun. I thought that forced immigration was very interesting and it was very cool.

Hi I am back.

A couple of weeks ago we started reading Alice In Wonderland in school. I will tell you what were doing write now.

So first Ms.Edinger read us the book and we followed along in our own books and every time we read we switched books so we could see all the different illustrations in the books.

Second we watched three movies called 1900 House, The Young Visitors, and Betty In blunderland.

Third we got partners and we chose a chapter or too and picked out scenes from them and now were making comics for them and adding text.

We also learned about Alice Liddell and Lewis Carroll.

Also we learned about the history of the book from when it was first out.
