Forced Immigration
From Jan. to Feb. Edinger House studied forced immigration. It was a very interesting process. We went to the African Burial Ground, where lots of people that came to New Amsterdam against their will were buried. Someone’s dad came in to talk to us about Africa. He owned a restaurant there. We looked at my teacher’s book: Sarah Margru Kinson. It was about a girl who got kidnapped by the white men. She lived in America for several years and then she went back to Africa. The forced immigration study was one of the best studies of the year!
