In the book Letters From Rifka the author uses some facts from the 1900’s and later. For example, someone with a contagious disease like ringworm would not be able to go to America. The author also uses great literary devices. For example, she describes chocolate as a corner of heaven because in Russia they did have chocolate and so it was a new experience for Rifka. When you read the book you feel like you’re Tovah, the person Rifka is writing to. The book is an emotional touching book.
