“I’ll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!” says the Wicked Witch in MGM studio’s “The Wizard of Oz Movie.” After reading The Wizard of Oz I noticed how the movie and book have many differences. They have for example:
∑ Dorothy is much too old.
∑ The Wicked Witch of the East and West got mixed up.
∑ It skipped about four chapters.
∑ In the book Oz ends up being a real place. In the movie it was all a dream.
That is not to say I didn’t enjoy the movie. I liked the movie but if you want to know the story of Oz read the book, and if you are looking for a bit of entertainment watch the movie. Both the book and the movie are good in their own way.
