The Journal of Wong Ming Chung

The Journal of Wong Ming Chung is a great work of historical fiction. There are some great facts such as Wong Ming Chung came from Tiger Rock, South China. Another example is that Wong Ming Chung arrived to Angel Island on June 20th. There is also good descriptive language such as “ Its sides shone in the sun so it looked like a silver arrow.”(p. 65) If you want to read a good historical fiction you should read this book.

Did you really like “The Journal of Wong Ming-Chung”? I kind of liked it. I thought that the beginning was kind of slow but then it got better. What book are you reading right now? I am going to read the Golden Compass but right now I am reading a book called Things Not Seen. It is by Andrew Clements and is about a boy who wakes up one day and finds himself invisisble. He meets a blind girl and they try to figure out the mystery together. If you want some good book recommendations just go to my blog, c15md

If Wong Ming-Chung wasn’t real, how could coming from tiger rock be a fact?

If this was Angel Island in San Francisco Bay then I have seen it many, many times. I don’t think I remembered that it was used as an admittance point for immigrants like Ellis Island. How interesting. Good job.
