Cinderella the lady

Once upon a time there was a girl, an average-looking-servant-to-her-step-family kind of girl, with black hair and green eyes who was tall and athletic and did NOT like to do nothing.

One day a knock came on the door when her duties were done, and she was relaxing.

“Come in.” The door slowly swung open. And there stood a little girl with a pair of wings!

“Hello,” said the girl. “You need to learn a few things about me, Cinderella.  I’m a Fairyling.  Fairies and Fairylings can make their wings invisible. We can change the light so that you can’t see them.  I’m also your fairy god-mother.”

“Well, why do I need a fairy godmother?” inquired Cinderella.

“Oh, I forgot you didn’t know!!!” bellowed the Fairyling.  “YOU ARE A CINDERELLA, CINDERELLA!!!”

“You mean one of those fairy tale girls?”

“You insult me! Fairies don’t have tails!”

“Look, I’m not talking about T-A-I-L-S; I’m talking about T-A-L-E-S! By the way… What exactly is going on here? It’s all very weird. Please explain,” said Cinderella.

“I’m a fairy. You’re a Cinderella. I’m your fairy godmother. Here, I’ll tell you one of the versions of Cinderella. Now listen carefully.

Once upon a time there was a girl whose mother had died. Her father remarried an evil, ugly woman (he had lost his glasses) who only thought about herself and her two evil, ugly daughters. They mistreated her because they were very jealous of the girl, Ella, who was very pretty and skilled in many ways. They made her their servant and took everything nice away from her. Soon they called her Cinderella because she was so dirty from sleeping in the fireplace. One day the Prince said that all the fair maidens in the land should come to the ball he was setting up. Cinderella wanted to come, but how could she? Even if she did have the clothes and transportation, how could she? Her stepmother wouldn’t let her ever go to any ball in any state. Cinderella was left behind to do the dishes and she cried. Suddenly a woman appeared. She said,

“Don’t cry, Cinderella! I’m your Fairy Godmother, and I’m going to get you to that ball. Here is a gown, tiara, and glass slippers. Here is the coach. Have a nice ball! Come back before Midnight!” and she was gone. So Cinderella went to the ball, had a good time, and rushed to get back before Midnight. In her haste she lost a glass slipper and the Prince found it and swore he would marry the owner. He tried it on all the fair maidens in the land until he got to Cinderella’s house. Here he found no success, until Cinderella came down. Then she tried it on, it fit, and they married. Cinderella and the Prince lived happily ever after, and Cinderella forgave her step-family.

“Of course there are variations on Cinderella, though. Your story is one of those. In fact, the ball’s tomorrow at Treasure Tower Palace.”

With that piece of news Fairyling vanished.

Cinderella turned around and found a grand new house in the place of her old one. She walked around and found it the same house with different furnishings. She looked at her room and found a room fit for a princess. There was a bed made of gold with gold covers, a desk with a cushioned velvet-covered chair, a bean-bag couch, a closet with mahogany doors, and even a makeup stand with a gold-embroidered hand-mirror and makeup! Not to mention the gold and silver carpet and the beautiful clothes in the closet.

Cinderella was thrilled.

“SUPERCALAFRAGILISTICEXPIALADOCIOUS!!!” she cried. “It’s beautiful!” she whispered. She took a look at the other rooms. She was astounded.  There were cobwebs, dust, and bad smells in her step-family’s rooms. In her section of the bathroom, there was gold and silver everywhere. In the others, there were broken, dusty, muddy sinks and toilets. Cinderella went back to her room and went to sleep.

She woke up in the morning to see her fairy godmother. She was holding a beautiful dress and tiara. She said to Cinderella  “This’s watch’ll wear, Cindsy.” She helped Cinderella get into it, and then said, “How does it look?”

Cinderella looked in the mirror and said, “Wow.” But it came out as, “My, goodness gracious me.  It is the most splendid gown I have ever seen in the world” with a British accent and in a lady’s voice.

“It has a lady spell on it so you’ll act, speak and look like a perfect lady,” said Fairyling.

“Why, that is most splendidly marvelous!” she said, again with the British accent and lady’s voice. Cinderella was beginning to forget that she was ever a servant. “Well, I suppose I had better be off now! I shall see you later!” Cinderella said. She walked down the stairs holding her gown up. When she got outside, she saw a beautiful coach waiting for her.

However, just as she got in Fairyling dashed down the stairs and shouted, “Get back before noon!”

When Cinderella got to the ball everything stopped. Everyone wanted to know who this beautiful, mysterious young lady was, and what she was doing. Then both Prince Max and Prince Joe set eyes on her and swore that they would marry her no matter what it took to do so. Both of them rushed over to her and said, “Will you dance?”

Cinderella didn’t know how to respond, so she said, “I shall dance with you two simultaneously.” And they both took one of her hands and held hands with each other. Then they spun around so fast that they were merely a blur. When it was 11:58 am, Cinderella let go and ran to the coach to tell it to drive back to the house.

The next day was the same, except Cinderella developed a preference for Prince Max because he was closer in age and interests. He also didn’t want to rule the whole world like Joe. He, like Cinderella, wanted only happiness. It turned out that both Princes had Fairy Godmothers. Joe said that night to his fairy godmother, “Make that beautiful girl love the handsomest boy around- me! Also make her my age and make her interests mine.”

But the Fairy Godmother said, “No, ‘tis against the Department of Fairy Godmother Rules to do anything like that.”

“DO IT ANYWAY!!!”

“Oh. Right, ” said Joe’s Fairy Godmother, for she couldn’t go against Joe for long. Fortunately, there was a protect spell around Cinderella so the spell bounced off to the “owner” and so Joe’s Fairy Godmother turned into kind of a version of Cinderella. That meant no more serving Joe. But that also meant two going for Max. When Cinderella got to the ball, she saw the Prince (Max) waiting for her. When she got to him, he said, “Another wants my love.”

Cinderella said, “I know.”

He said, “You do?”

and Cinderella said, “Will you marry me?”

and the Prince was astounded but said, “Yes, I will. By the way, what is your name?”

“Cinderella,” she said.

The Prince jumped.

“You mean you’re a Fairytale Girl?” he asked incredulously. “Yes,” she told him calmly and he said,

“I love you, Cinderella.”

“I know, Max. I know,” she said. The next day they were married and Cinderella said, “My real name is Ellaniana Fordstone.” Cinderella forgave her step-family and lived happily ever after with the Prince, Fairyling, and Gnilyriaf the Prince’s (now King) Fairy Godmother.  The End.  Cinderella said after the ‘story’, “Our children love this version of Cinderella, don’t they, Maxy?”

“Yes, they do love hearing their mother’s adventures. I like the type of adjectives the Author put in,” said King Max. The End-End. Good-bye, Thank you. The End-End-End
