This is what my 3rd grade buddy wrote and I then posted it here on my blog.

Hi, in house 43 (at the Dalton School) we have buddies from New Orleans. Luckily the hurricane did not hit my buddy. We are all trying to put together a project to help New Orleans. We are also pen pals with them. I love having a pen pal. I wish I could see my buddy in person. What we are talking about with our buddies in mail is about school, our life, and much more.

I taught my buddy about what we are learning in my class; for example, we are studying the Native Americans. And I am learning from my buddy, for example, Mardi Gras which is a holiday. We also sent them things that are famous, like we sent them bagels and they sent us a King Cake from Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is a holiday that they celebrate in New Orleans. I love sending mail to my buddy; it’s like talking to him by mail.
