Oz To Oz

Our class is having a study on The Wizard of Oz. We read the original book and took notes on it. Them we watched the movie. This post is about how well the adaptation of the movie to the book.
The movie is NOT a good adaptation to the book. Many things were changed left out or other things were added on. I did like the movie all though.
In the book the main character Dorothy is very young and very small, but in the movie she is as big as the Lion! At one point in the book everybody knows they go to the Wizard of Oz. In the book they each go by their selves to the Wizard one person per day. But in the movie they all go to Oz at the same time and don’t have to wait. One Huge thing is in the book it’s all real, but in the movie it’s just a dream! I hate that. Another one is in the book the slippers are silver. In the movie they are ruby red.
On the up side— it’s not completely off. A lot of the poetry and settings are the same in the movie. They include the main settings of the book witch was good. All of the main characters were included like the Munchkins and the Flying Monkeys. It was a good movie and a long one at that. But the book is the best.

The movie is a good to watch if you are a kid. Its very creative like the book. If you read the book first you might think that it is a bad movie in comparison. But that does not matter in the end. It’s ok.
